Furry and Feathery Friends

I decided to use yesterday's lunchtime to take my camera out for a spin and photograph some of the cheeky creatures that have been active round here recently...

Squirrels!!

Yes these cuties have been hopping about, sniffing the ground, scrabbling up trees, pit-pattering the grass, chasing each other...

And since moving my desk from my bedroom to the main room (thanks to a very kind and determined madre) I have been able to not only have plenty of light to work by and feel the sunshine (when it occasionally decides to show), but I have also been able to see all of the activities and goings-on outside the window!

So here are a few snaps from yesterday...

"Did you get my best side?"
Caught in the act
"Retreat!"
Bin sittin'

Also, I don't often hear many birds tweeting round here, and rarely see any beyond pigeons, magpies, the odd crow, and of course the occasional parakeet flying high overhead.

So imagine my delight today when I caught sight of this little fella just outside the window as I was working! This goldfinch was on this bush for quite some time, pecking away. (I also later saw a little house wren on another bush, so will have to try and capture that one on camera sometime...)

He spotted me!

Here's to more photos of local wildlife in the future!
